Just Beyond

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY

In 2 days it would be our 1st anniversary since we started traveling through the 4th Dimension.  While writing in my journal, or diary, an idea popped into my mind.  Why not have “TRI-QUAD” make a complete rehash of all the main things we had done this last year.  The “Pyramid People” who were left behind on our island named Sanctuary, were in for a real treat.  I went to the top level, the control module, and talked with my computer.  It didn’t take long for us to get my idea into motion.  We’d have an outdoor party and show the matinee movie at Sunset.  The rest of the day was for preparing the area for another “Wing Ding”.    This was our 3rd day back, and our few days here were a great change of pace.  The fire pits and lights had been set up since we arrived.  The children were having fun swimming and playing games.  I made sure that there were some boats patrolling against any danger from Sharks, and that there were 2 boats with nets to catch fish.  My new wife, Amy from 3525AD, was building a sandcastle.  She had never seen an ocean, let alone felt sand, before coming to this island.  This place was a completely different world from what she had ever known existed.  I had shown her pictures of what castles looked like, and she sculptured out a fine one.  As she was finishing it, “Tri-Quad” announced the arrival of our “Mazer-Phase” time traveling vessel.

This was a surprise!  Uncle sent it from the year he was at.  When I opened it up, I found that he had sent another new invention.  How did he manage to stay a step ahead?  Inside the vessel contained a new way to view the movie that “T-Q” was putting together.  We didn’t need the view screens.  Two of the Robot men were programmed to set it up.  It was far better than 3-D!  When completed, it turned out to be a Hologram that measured 100 foot and curved 180 degrees.  A rope was stretched from one end to the other.  Sitting behind this point gave the best results.  This was going to be great!  I couldn’t wait to experience this with the rest of the people.  Uncle must have learned of my idea from our computers communicating with each other.  They were sly, and Uncle never ceased to amaze me.  T-Q would have all the data for the premiere by dusk.  The show would have surround sound also.

While waiting for the completion of our theater, the food for everyone was beginning to cook.  Eva was in charge of all the kitchen staff and the menu for the day.  Since she joined us in 33BC, she rose from being a captive, to head kitchen supervisor.  From there, she rose to be a member of the “Inner Circle”.  She was roasting Cow, Pig, and Fish at the fire pits.  She also made barrels of Popcorn for the Movie.  At such gatherings, for the young people, “Kool-Aid” was the standard refreshment.  All I had to do for this evening was to have the men retrieve a barrel of Beer from the cold storage room, and to wait for the start of our big event.  The air was filled with the aroma coming from the roasting fire pits, and the island was humming.  People were coming from their houses.  The Sun was above the water’s horizon when the music came on, and that meant that dinner was soon to be ready.  As soon as the Sun had set, the Hologram would turn on.  Now was the time for all of us to eat and drink.  I felt like this was going to be similar to a drive-in movie, but without the cars.  The tables for food were set up in a buffet style, for all to enjoy.  I kept sitting on the beach with my family and friends.  Amy loved watching the Sunset every night we were here.  With the Sun melting into the water, she gave me a kiss and hug.  When there was no longer a Sun to be seen, we walked back to the rest of the gathering to eat and to get a good spot for the main event.

The curtain rose, as they used to say, and the Hologram turned on.  In minutes, everyone was sitting behind the rope and glued to what was in front of them.  Uncle Ward’s “World of Magic” act came on first.  This scene was before our 1st time travel, when we went back to 33BC.  It was one of Uncle’s classic shows of making an elephant disappear on stage.  Throughout the 3 decades of making things vanish, no one had figured out how he did it.  He had used his discovery of Particle Beam Technology.
