Beyond The Shout
Today I am thinking
Of a much better place
The vision in my mind
I can’t seem to erase
My soul is longing
For a far higher plane
So here in the present
I can no longer remain
Come lead me down the path
Only you know the way
Just speak dear Lord
And your command I will obey
For there in your presence
I long to be
So Lord here I am
Bid me come to Thee
No evil shall I fear
As I travel this way
No terror by night
Nor the arrow by day
For you are my refuge
When I’m shattered and torn
And you are my peace
In the eye of the storm
Come Holy Spirit
Come and take control
You are the very breath
Of life to my soul

About the Book
BEYOND THE SHOUT is a compilation of spiritually oriented poetry and anecdotes expressing various aspects of daily Christian living, including the challenges and triumphs that offer hope, not only in this life, but eternally. Share the sorrow and joy as you read a testimonial of the author’s struggle and recovery from polio to the light-hearted anecdote of her rooster fight. Follow her journey through adulthood as she searches for a place of refuge and peace that she discovers in serving the Lord, finding that place she refers to as BEYOND THE SHOUT.
About the Author
The author is a native and life-long resident of West Virginia. She has enjoyed a long career with the WV Bureau of Employment Programs and is now retired, enabling her to pursue her passion of writing and music. She has devoted many years to the work of the Lord, including Sunday School Teacher and church musician, BEYOND THE SHOUT is her first published collection which has been a source of inward healing and consolation. It is her desire to glorify God and to encourage and inspire the reader, believing there is hope in all of life’s struggles.
