About the Book

The Guinea Hen Named “Sky is Falling” is a humorous tale regarding the antics of a rancher trying to capture an armadillo who has been destroying his beautiful yard.  In his nightly efforts to capture the armadillo, the rancher accidentally traps a guinea hen that becomes hysterical.  The guinea hen, along with two other guinea hens, takes a major role in the story with her interference of the rancher trying to capture the armadillo.  The rancher experiences all kinds of problems with his efforts to capture the armadillo, but he is determined not to give up.

The story is told from the eyes of the rancher’s granddaughter who calls him Ta, pronounced “tah.”  She comes to visit during the summer and often during the school year.  The setting takes place at her grandparents beautiful ranch surrounded by woods.  The granddaughter experiences a disappointing moment when the guinea hens disappear.  The story winds up with a surprise ending.

About the Author

Dr. Eva S. Molina is a Texas educator, retiring after 35 years of service.  She provided leadership for the children and teachers of Texas as a teacher, reading specialist, principal, assistant superintendent of schools and adjunct professor at the university level.  Her work with children always focused on reading with the thought that being a good reader is the key to a successful future in life.  While she is a novice published author, she served as editor for an original book Champion for Children, and has a chapter in Women and Leadership, Creating Balance in Life, in which she writes about strategies for multiplying your personal effectiveness.  In addition, she is the author of Lasting Memories, a book chronicling the life of her parents and family history.  She has also written several other works, yet to be published.  These include children’s stories and a cookbook, which includes family recipes spanning forty-five years.    

Dr. Molina, as an educator, provided leadership to her faculty and staff through on-going staff development and personal motivation.  She has presented in numerous professional conferences and has also been featured as a keynote speaker.  She received her doctorate degree from the University of Texas at Austin where she was inducted into Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society and Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society.  She was also recognized as a member of Who’s Who Among American Universities and Colleges during her undergraduate senior year.  In 2003, prior to her retirement from education, Dr. Molina was named “Principal of the Year” for Area 8 of the Dallas schools.

Dr. Molina, who resides in the country outside of Lancaster, Texas with her husband Arnold, has two daughters and four grandchildren.  Besides writing, she loves to read, cook, and enjoys traveling with her husband.
