I LOVE YOU
Matters of the heart differ from those of the mind
Any fool knows they are not of a kind
When you love some one you must tell them so
If you are loved in return it is good to know
If I could choose, I would be a dove
Because I know they share true love
You cannot choose your family, only friends
So carefully choose the one you love, you should always win
If they don’t love you
It does not stop the fire in your heart that burns
Let her go, if you really love her
If she comes back; pray it’s her final choice and not just a whim
There is always hope for all mankind
Because a broken heart will heal with time

Do you love me How much do you care
How much will you give How much will you share
Are we the ideal couple; are we a matched pair
Will you hold my hand when we walk in the park
Will you let me kiss you in the moonlight when it’s dark
Will you be my one and only and always my best friend
Can I depend on you forever through thick and thin
Because I want some one with me to the very end
Will you stand by me no matter what the cost
Or will you forsake me when all I have is lost
Do you love me How much do you care
How much will you give How much do you dare
Will you tell me your secrets about your love affairs
Will you have my baby and go back to work to pay the bills
Or will you He around the house, get fat and go back on the pill
Will you get out of bed when you don’t feel well
And cook the meals and rub my back or tell me to go to hell
Will you comfort me when I’m in despair and there seems to be no hope
Or will you call your friends and tell them you married a worthless dope
Will you go to work when I’ve lost my job
Or will you complain to your father and others that I’m just a slob
Do you love me How much do you care
How much will you give How much will you share
I want you to love me above all others or is that not fair
I need some one who believes in me to stand by my side
Through the ups and downs and cling to me with pride

About the Author
S. Glenn Wakefield joined the Army and the Green Berets in 1960, serving as a Special Forces advisor in Vietnam and Laos for two years. He was awarded a Purple Heart in 1963. He later earned a Bachelor of Arts from West Chester College and a Doctorate in Educational Administration from George Washington University. This is his fourth book.
