About the Author

Michael J. Stanley is a native New Yorker. Born in Harlem, he was raised by his mother after his father died. He has one brother. Twice married, and divorced, and a father, grandfather, uncle, and friend to quite a few. The author maintains that he has never learned how to make love “work”. This book tells of those brief victories, and the lasting effects of loss. It also tells many stories of resolve. He has only just begun.
