About the Author
After being diagnosed with Breast Cancer in March 2006 I chose to put together this first collection of poetic works. I combined poetry from as early as my pre-teen years. I was 11 years old and in 6th grade when the power of words began to flow. Over 20 years later I still have the A+ on that poem. My 7th grade science teacher was an inspiration to me and was overwhelmed to find out that in the year of her retirement she would grace the cover of my book with her own work of artistry.
My poems are a collection of many different styles. Some are dedicated to my loved ones. My illness gave me one thing I do know, it gave me the time to put my pen to the paper once again. My illustrations also were created with some of this time I had spent recovering. With all of life’s hills and valleys, ups and downs, happiness and hard times, it is with great inspirational value that I dedicate this book to all Breast Cancer survivors, past, present, and future.
