About the Book

A New World is the second book in the Series of Jenny Dewberry. It is such an exciting story with action in every chapter, that when you read it, you will not want to put it down.

In the first book “A New Beginning” Jenny finds out that she is a witch, but has to break a powerful spell in order to gain her powers. The story continues in “A New World” when Jenny has to wake up the world of Magic, the world her grandmother came from. Here is what the story is about.

Jenny Dewberry had an ordinary life until she broke a spell that had been cast upon her grandmother, Alinore Grayson. In doing so, Jenny now has to wake up her grandmother’s magical world, which had fallen asleep because of the spell. She discovers an unexpected secret that will make it harder and more dangerous for Jenny to wake up the World of Witchery and to save Terrain from Madiva. 

Regardless, Jenny, Donny and their friends Kathy Collins, Gerry Eastman, and Gerry’s cousin, Davyn Eastman, venture into the unknown world, a world where witches and wizards once lived, a world of incredible intrigue and excitement.

This captivating kingdom is filled with all kinds of creatures that Jenny and her group find in their travels. Some are vicious and malicious while others are mystical and enchanting. But one evil creature, Madiva, an evil witch, who does not want Jenny to wake up the world, follows the thirteen year old inside. She will do everything in her power to stop Jenny and her friends from accomplishing Alinore’s wish, to bring back white magic.

Jenny, Donny and their friends work together to try to wake up Alinore’s world. They find many difficulties along the way, which slow them down. They want to reach Nottington Castle before Madiva does, in order to break the remaining spell and bring back all the witches who had been forced asleep for over fifty years. Join in with Jenny in another magical journey and help her achieve her grandmother’s wish, a wish that Alinore had carried with her all her life as a mortal and wake up the World of Witchery, a New World of magic.

About the Author

Joyce Olsen grew up on a farm in western Canada. Being mostly alone as a child, she used to play make-believe games outside, behind her parents home, over looking a forest of trees that seemed enchanted. There was a delightful, bubbly stream behind the house, flowing through the trees, which she had to cross to enter into her dreamland of fun. Her mother and older sister always told her, she had an over active imagination. She took that imagination and instilled it into her life of writing stories and poems and in raising her three children. Her passion for reading and writing has been with her all her life and her imagination has inspired her to carry out a long life dream of writing. Her ups and downs through her life, that she has experienced, has been a rollercoaster ride and has given her an outlook on life, which is, life is to short, take it to the fullest and make the best of it. Do what you love to do the most and go for it. If you have dreams, don’t hold back, make them come true.

            She now lives alone with her husband in a small city in southern Alberta, where they own and operate a small company. Her three wonderful children, now grown, are her inspiration, her sunshine. They are her life. The books of “The Jenny Dewberry Series” will be the writings of Joyce’s imagination and her passion and will be dedicated to her children.

            “A New Beginning” is her first published book, a youth’s book full of intrigue, fantasy and total imagination. This thirteen year old girl, along with her younger brother and friends, go on adventures that Joyce has always dreamed of and imagined as a child.
