About the Book

Ugly as a Toad will be loved by children, parents and teachers for its fun language, lovable characters, and delightful illustrations.  Teachers will use it to teach about idioms, narrative elements, fact vs. opinion, sequencing, friendship, self esteem, and so much more!

About the Author

Julie Fox lives in New England with her husband and two children. She is a full time writer and educator. She has taught for the past ten years in both private and public schools. She has two boys which give her enormous amounts of inspiration!

About the Illustrator

Ask Sarah's family or any of her teachers growing up what they thought she would be.  They'll tell you "an artist".  Even in third grade Sarah illustrated stories that the teachers would bind into books for her to keep.  In the "About the Author" section it always said "When Sarah grows up she wants to be an illustrator".  Though Sarah doesn't think she's all grown up yet, she is certainly having a great time pairing great stories with beautiful pictures.  Sarah lives with her husband and cat,Trouble, in a cute little house in the woods of New Hampshire.  In her free time you can find Sarah drawing in her studio or napping with Trouble in the hammock under the big Maple tree.
