About the Author

Lauren S. Barr, a survivor of childhood abuse, grew up in suburban Westfield, New Jersey.  She has held jobs as a pharmacy technician, convenience store clerk, political campaign operative, journalist, and spent seven years as an emergency medical technician.  She served as the managing editor of The Westfield Leader and The Scotch Plains-Fanwood Times, and currently works in the field of marketing for architectural products.

Lauren holds an Associates in Science degree from Union County College and a Bachelor of Arts from Thomas Edison State College.   She still lives in New Jersey with her husband Jon-Henry Barr and their daughter, Ainsley.   In her free time, Lauren can be found gardening, traveling, visiting national parks, and spending time with her loved ones.
