That morning, Pascale and Alain, who had planned everything the night before, are getting ready for a hike in the forest.
“Don't go too far, and be careful!” says Mom.
“Don't you worry Mom!” says Pascale.
They throw on their backpacks, which hold a snack and all sorts of useful things, and set out on their way…
Through a path covered in pine needles, they venture in the forest. A blue tit welcomes them: “chik-tî-tî-tî!”, and follows them for a short while.

Is this the surprise?” asks Alain, drinking his apple juice.
“Of course not,” says the rabbit. “The surprise is here, in this bag, and you will remember it forever.”
When the children are done with their apple juice, the tall rabbit tell them:
“Now look at me my little friends! I will lend you some of my winged sandals. They will enable you to visit the forest and you will love the ride. How does that sound?”
The children nod, all the while wondering if the tall rabbit has lost his marbles and gone crazy!

About the Author
MD by training and artist by vocation, Ray Miot wrote his children stories first and foremost for his own children, Pascale and Alain. It is no coincidence if those stories are disarmingly simple. Ours is a planet in a hurry, a world of instant communication, where bedtime stories are told by television, where every game, every toy, and every story have gone techno. His childhood memories still at reach, he has chosen to present his children with a vision of the world as we once knew it. Basic human values, essential skills such as self-confidence and trust, and the respect for nature are all present in these charming little tales.
