And this poem I tried to write it/
I’ve been thinking of you all morning; sprinting
through my mind
Racing & gathering thoughts, scents and sounds
from you
Thinking are those your eyes breathing on me or did a
moment took me too far
Lost in finding your pulse/ retreating to hear your
heart beating
Astray between thought and expression
Thinking of shaking my grumpy skin loose
And U dancing barefooted in my wounds ….
Oh ish …its afternoon
And my feelings can’t hide it
Trying to put love beside it
And this poem I tried to write
My spirit crawls and cries slow like a baby as an
embryo
Trying to pour voice over paper, but my ink doesn’t
know where to go
New memories breeding slow ..hungry for you
Yet the feeding doesn’t know where to go
To my lips for kiss, body for hung, soul for a sample/
or all above
Stuck at the page between the edge and margin
Don’t know to give up or where to start again
Getting arouse alone…legs warmly dividing
Dropping pens /wishing you where the wind inside me
Flames can’t douse them / and your scent just found me
Sloppy sweet love just drowned me…last night at the
headboard surrounds me
Can’t find the fight to fan a flame …I’ve just came
Wide like a river/ slippery like the current
Life would be too divine/if at least a fraction of you
were at my panty line
But like this unfinished poem/ in due time ….oh ish
its night
And my feelings can’t hide it
Trying to put love beside it
And this poem I tried to write
Can’t find my pad, misplace my pen
Missing you engages another war/ the fight to keep the
feelings oppressed
But they rise like a tide, nude running wild dared to
be dressed
Caged or forgotten / trying to forget only leads to
weapons being drawn
Dagger for the heart that bleeds you/ While the war
rages on
And my feelings can’t hide it

About the Book
Hot nickels is a book/ mood prepared as food
for thought dishes. Everyone is welcome to a plate
of intrigue, passion, love and shoe fly pie to dine from along with being a challenge for all to
become better friends,citizens and never forget the essence of the Harlem Renaissance
. Hot nickel.. is needed as much
as the HR was in 1920. Many of the
respectable cultures and attributes across the world are celebrated, however
African American culture at times is overlooked and not fêted and embraced. Hot nickel... is not only an
attempt, but a haunting desire to commemorate the thoughts, lifestyles and food
dishes of African Americans poetically.
Every poem, abstract, story and haiku was carved, shaped and written to
stick to the ribs of the mind and soul.
Every piece was prepared for all to nibble, gnaw, sample, eat and digest
in hopes of your mind becoming fat and filling. Hot nickels & kool pennies: khocolate happi vibin’ broken into
three to five counterpart/ meanings.
The subtitle/restaurant KHV (chocolate was ebonixed and spelled with a K instead of a C for Kenny (who is the leading chef of the vibe) and chocolate is the color of the African Americans people. Chocolate is deep, sweet and rich like the sonnets and writing of the vibe and designed to make you smile (mentally) as chocolate does for many. Happy is ebonixed like chocolate and spelled happi for I needed to emphasize. Happy defines celebration, triumph, and ending of sorrows and tough situation much like our lives. Vibe symbolizes the feeling of place and mood when creating a masterpiece through penmanship —A deep, sweet and rich celebration of triumph, pain and overcoming feelings of everyday life in the worlds of all of us.
