About the Book

The book Istiqbal-e-Imam Mahdi (Welcoming the Savior) is a compilation of authentic supplications in Arabic language with Urdu translation. The 255 pages book takes the reader to the heights of spiritual excellence, cognizance of God, love of infallibles, and clarity of one’s life goal.

It has three parts; part-1 tells about the belief about a savior who will fill the earth with peace, justice and prosperity. In Christianity and Judaism, Jesus Christ is believed to be the savior while he is popularly known as 'Imam Mahdi' who will be accompanied by Jesus Christ to establish the Kingdom of God on earth. This part also mentions how other religions believe in some form of a savior.

Part-2 reproduces the excellent supplications narrated about or by Imam Mahdi (peace be upon him), which are famous for solving variety of problems facing men and women in today’s world.

Some additional supplications are included in Part-3 and appendix, which help in making an individual, physically-fit, mentally-free, psychologically-satisfied and economically-well-off so that he may become a productive part of struggle for goodness on earth with deep love for humanity and great hope from the future.

The book is wider in its practical effectiveness yet may look narrow as its substantial content is chosen from authentic source of a particular Islamic school of thoughts. The reader of other schools needs to be open-minded to get really great benefits of this book.

The most valuable in this book is the deep insights for three types of awaiting (theoretical, spiritual and practical) urged among those who wish to see humanity saved from cruelty and unrest.

It successfully provokes the reader to know his role in emerging world. The book is unique in the sense that its content comes from the heart and goes deep into the souls! 

About the Author

Dr Syed Nisar Hussain Hamdani did his PhD in Economics, in 2004(QAU), Wertheim Fellowship in 2006 (Harvard). Dr Hamdani serves as a Dean Faculty of Arts and Professor of Economics in University of AJK, presently pursuing post-doctoral research at Harvard University USA. He has 23 years experience of teaching, training and research at university level. His distinct experience is in faith-based research leading to a new sub-discipline “Divine Economics”. His published work includes articles that analyze relationship between economic choices and philanthropy, volunteering, time allocation, leisure, social capital, religious human capital, wellbeing, etc. One of his works is perhaps the first ever on disaster economics that empirically analyzes the effect of different religious perceptions about a savior, the appearance of Imam Al-Mahdi or second coming of Jesus Christ and their effect on socioeconomic behaviors. He has delivered lectures to multi-faith audience and is known to be a promoter of tranquility and coexistence among diverse groups of population. The Higher Education Commission of Pakistan honored him with ‘Best Teacher Award – 2005’ and also granted him one year postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard University USA for Extension in Divine Economics. He is author of a number of scientific and literary publications.
