Mama whispered in her ear.
“make a wish first. If you blow out your candles your wish just might come true.”
Kajsa’s eyes got real big. The light of the candles sparkled in them. The whole family waited while she thought of her wish.
She remembered that pink bicycle from the mall with the tassels on the handlebars.
She looked down at irish, her cat; smiled and thought, i wish i could have that little pink bike. Irish said, “meow,” and rubbed against her leg.
“blow out your candles,” cried her big sister!
Kajsa let that breath go. Whoosh! The flames leaned way over. They danced and shook; then pop, pop, pop! All three candles went out. Everyone clapped; even baby madeleine.

About the Book
Watch What You Wish is the second in a series about Sandi's granddaughter, Kajsa, who is the middle child. It was originally written because she could find no books or gifts celebrating the name Kajsa. But the reaction of her adult friends to this book about a child working through insecurities as the new baby takes her place as the youngest in the family, made Sandi watch Kajsa more closely and see, first hand, the potentially painful transition to middle child. Kajsa, explores the fantacy of staying a little baby and having all her needs met by her family. But life takes a surprising turn when her wishes come true with a painful twist. Her paraents and her confidente, Irish the Cat, are there to help Kajsa grow in confidence as she learns that the place she holds in her family is perfect for her.
About the Author
Sandi Adams is semi-retired after 40 years of Nursing. She has always loved the written word and has written poetry about her life and friends all her adult life. She would write poems for friends in their birthday cards or just to mark an event which moved her emotionally. Then with the birth of her three granddaughters a new passion for writing emerged. Sandi had always wondered how she would fill her time in retirement. Now there are more books percolating in her than her illustrator can keep up with.
