About the Author
Dr. Jerry Garrett has been in education for over 30 years. He received his Bachelor’s, Masters, and Doctoral degrees from Ball State University. He completed post-doctoral work in Counseling Psychology at Valparaiso University and Clinical Psychology at the Illinois School of Professional Psychology, and is a licensed counselor. His experiences include five years as an elementary teacher, seven years as an elementary principal, and nearly 20 years as a university professor. In addition to his full time university experiences, he has worked part time as an adjunct faculty member and psychotherapist. He served with the United States Army as an enlisted member and officer, where he was a Race Relations/Human Relations Instructor. Dr. Garrett is President and CEO of Dr. Jerry Garrett, Training, Seminars, Counseling and Consulting (TSCC). Dr. Garrett is committed to using his talents to train and help parents to become the best parents they can possibly be. His key beliefs are that all children and teenagers deserve to grow and learn in a safe, supportive, and encouraging atmosphere, and parents can acquire and strengthen skills that will allow the young to live as contributors to society, with an enhanced sense of self.
