Blue Print for a Successful Marriage

Marriage was originally God's idea. According to the Bible, God started it and He performed the first marriage ever recorded on earth. Anything that God is involved in is bound to succeed. After all, God is all knowing and all powerful. Why then are so many marriages end up in divorce?  Why are more and more of our children being raised in a single parent home? Why are so many people in an unhealthy relationship? Why are more women desiring to be married but cant find a good husband? Why are so many young men reluctant to make a commitment for marriage in a relationship? This book is intended to identify the problems and offer meaningful solutions on the subject of marriage.

I am not a stranger to the marriage institution. I have been married for twenty four years and I have had my own share of marital challenges.  More so, I am a Pastor and a Lawyer. In that capacity, I have conducted many marriage ceremonies, I have been a marriage counselor to hundreds of married couples and I have represented many people on marriage matters in the court room. In short, I have seen it all. I have seen the good, the bad and the ugly. Frankly, I am sick and tired of seeing too many people get hurt in their marriage and I really want to help. The good news is that I have learned a lot of valuable lessons in life that I intend to share in this book. Additionally, I have divine revelation from the word of God that I strongly believe will help any married couple to succeed in their marriage.

I must admit that initially when I was searching the Scriptures thoroughly about marriage, I wasn't looking for principles and ideas to write a book. I was actually trying to find solution to my own marriage challenges. It was in the process of finding help for me that I discover a lot of the insights that I will be sharing with you in this book. So, I am not just talking theories in this book. Where I am about to take you, I've been there, got a t-shirt and a souvenir to show for it.  In other words, many of the principles that I will be sharing in this book are tested and tried. I know the tragedy of having an unhealthy marriage and I certainly know the beauty of having a good marriage life. In this book, I intend to safe you a lot of headache and disappointments if you want to be married.  Likewise, if you are already married, I strongly desire to help you to maintain a good marital relationship, do a good tune up on your marital engine and repair any existing damage so that your marriage can ride smoothly and give you a pleasant life trip like an automobile with a good engine well maintained.

This book is not just a bag of ideas. It will be practical, relevant and blunt. I do not intend to waste your time with big English and prolong theories. I am very committed to help people and to make our world a better place. So, if you are serious about having a successful marriage, this book is a must read for you. If you read the book with an open mind and follow my suggestions, I am strongly convinced that you will succeed in your marriage.

The other motivation I had for writing this book was my children. My wife and I are blessed with five lovely children. I perceived that they may all want to get marry in the near future. So, I strongly desire to teach them about what it takes to have a successful marriage. I certainly want them to learn from my own mistakes because it is far better to learn from the mistakes of others than to go through the same mistakes before you learn. I want to make sure that they know how to make the right choice when it comes to selecting their spouse, and to acquire the necessary skill to maintain a successful marriage life. Obviously, if I am writing a manual of success to my children, I cannot afford to play games or tell a tale. So, this book is not an attempt to impress anyone. Instead, it will be a recipe for a successful marriage bluntly grounded in the word of God. I have no desire to neither waste your time nor bore you with sweet talk. So, if you are looking for straight answers to real questions in marriage, keep on reading this book and I can assure you that you will be blessed.

As a Pastor, I have seen and heard enough of marriage wrecks. As a lawyer, I have watched too many married couples scream and yell at each other in the court house. As a citizen of this great country, I am concerned that our society is being endangered by too many family break-up. Deep in my heart, I feel the pain, I see the problems and I have a solution. I felt that I can do something about it if given a chance. This book is one platform that God has given me to make a difference.
