About the Book

Some 300 pages telling of the memories, recorded data with dates and events of the Hillsdale County Fair from 1851-2007. This is not a collection of newspaper articles or copied minutes - it is a written story. Over one hundred interviews helped the author to include real life experiences in her writings. This Fair has been known as "The Most Popular Fair On Earth," by many for better then one hundred fifty years. Each year many who attend have taken their vacation, just to return to Hillsdale County, Michigan and attend the Fair.

About the Author

Cinda Lou Walton has been a resident of Hillsdale County, Michigan most of her life. By profession she is a RHIA - Registered Health Information Administrator. Following thirty plus years as a full-time Health Professional she took an early buy-out and began to teach at a local Community College. Having always had an interest in local history she began to find ways to preserve the heritage of the communities around her. Her first project was to place a web only book, on her local schools web-site, sharing with her community the history of the area around the Hamlet of Pittsford, Michigan. It is titled "The Hamlet of Pittsford." A second project was to write the history of her father's family. She published that book for family members. With this publication she has completed a third project by collecting, writing and giving a written history of the Hillsdale County Agricultural Society and its Fair. Any profit from this book will be used to assist with the upkeep and preservation of the Fair's many historical buildings.
