About the Author

Ann Brophy grew up in Indiana. After college, she moved to New York City where she worked with Broadway playwrights. She now lives in Connecticut and has published 7 books: “Flash and the Swan,” a novel; “John Ericsson and the Inventions of War” and “The Story of Jennie Wade,” both Civil War biographies; “Summer Storm in Gettysburg,” a historical novel; “Best Friends are Better Than Diamonds, A Story of Diamond Heels and Stepped-On Toes,” a memoir; “To Catch a Ghost,” a mystery; and most recently “When I Moved Upstairs,” a novel. She also has published stories and poetry in children’s magazines, taught Writing for Children at Fairfield University, conducted writing workshops and edited manuscripts for publishers and private students.
