This poem sums up the author's attitude to survival
Shadows on the Shore
As we walk through the shadows on the shore
we follow the life that we live
each shadow's length reflects our painful journey
with light and sun warming the pain
until we stay with happiness once more
Our footsteps pounding on the broken floor
we walk in prose but think in rhyme
couplets flooding in to break the empty space
that is our thought's resting place
thus we are whole and dwell there evermore.

About the Book
This anthology is a collection of poems written over the last few years and offered up for reflection on our world and the state of mind in the twenty first century. The simple message is that even in despair there is always hope. Some of the poems reflect the lighter side of life.
The short story at the end of the book is a mystical journey to the spirit of nature. It came to the author as a silent ballet with the characters moving to the music in their soul.
About the Author
The author lives in Buckinghamshire, England with her second husband who was also her first husband as they married each other twice! They have two grown up children. She has had several careers ranging from being one of the first few women Air Traffic Control Officers in the Civil Aviation Authority; motherhood; working as a senior manager for a charity and latterly as a student of history with a degree from Bristol University. Her main interests are medieval history; poetry and theatre; and enjoying the sea and the countryside. She tries to blend optimism with an understanding of the bleaker side of life.
