I hope by this stage you are making a brave decision as to the type of society 50 years ago? It told me a lot which today I can relate to useless Councils, Government departments, large Corporations and the like. I aim to set the record straight and if anyone recognizes themselves be sure to get a better Lawyer than mine. Nevertheless I have spent long enough painting a picture of Belfast life in my lifetime. The purpose of which is twofold. Firstly that you appreciate that I have an eye to detail that would perhaps manifest itself in my critical observations of various institutions or departments of Government. I never take anything at face value. Any public statement made on behalf of just about any body normally omits more than it informs. Secondly, people have a right to know what is going on and in this Country where secrecy is sacrosanct, pervading every nook and cranny, I aim to expose relentlessly any and every body that has come under my notice for whatever reason. Likely I shall lapse into storytelling from time to time to illustrate a point, or to provide a contrast with a chosen set of circumstances. I have taken few liberties with the overall text except to protect the innocent or those who have provided damning evidence in support of my investigations. No organization, body, group, council, institution, quango, committee is safe from me.

About the Book
A description of life, past and present, as enjoyed or tolerated by the Irish community both North and South. Their aspirations, expectations, and their sometime colourful history provided a palette for the author to paint a picture of current Ireland. The many encounters and challenges described by the author are real and did occur.
About the Author
A former Marine navigator who got the idea for his book from an encounter with Government 'red tape'. Subsequently, self employed in the road haulage / heavy construction plant industry as a director. Moved into new and used car sales and finally, joined Police at a fairly late age. Retired in 1997, but became bored in 4 days, and took on a fuel company franchise, returning to the transport business in 1999. Year 2000 saw the Author moving back into academia by way of Southampton University at Warsash. An unfortunate encounter with his maritime employer over immigration issues resulted in his now full time employment in Security.
