Cocoa Bean had 10 coconuts lined up and he was painting a different name on each one of them. “I'm getting my ammunition ready,” he answered. “Ammunition? What do you need ammunition for?” she asked. “I'm going to teach those lions a lesson,” he grumbled. “I hate them!” “Cocoa Bean!” gasped Squirt. “What a horrible thing to say!” “Hate is a terrible word,” she said a little more calmly. “Sit down next to me and tell me what's going on.”

About the Author
Beth Smithem lives in Monterey, Tennessee, with her husband, three dogs and two cats. Being raised by a mother who allowed them to keep turtles in the bathtub, animals have always played an important role in Beth’s life and a major influence in her writing.
