They Called me Slow, but the Light was Hidden in Me

Another product of my electronic genius was melding one of the first television band radios with a TV that had lost its sound using the same coat hanger method. CAUTION!!! Not to be used during a lightning storm! Looking back now, I could see how God had His powerful hand on this ill-prepared son. It was a night that my mother had to work late-this is further in my future-and my sister, brother and family friend were all gathered at our townhouse watching a movie but the sound kept fading out and in. It had been storming during the show and I had the radio wired to the television for sound. Well, the sound had decided to fade completely and I moved to work on adjusting the wire coat hanger. HOWEVER, God in His infinite wisdom sent a bolt of lightning that came through the window, hit the coat hanger and lit up the television. At that instance I was paralyzed beyond the capacity for rational thought. Everyone else had run for cover. In my glorified imagination, I saw hell whip off a quick e-mail to God that read: ’Dear Sir, please DO NOT, under any circumstances send that boy to us! Hell is on enough crack as it is and in his case is on lockdown, out of order and has frozen over! If this child must be sent our way, please send more morphine and instructions on how to turn that child off!’ Death, on the other hand wrote a corresponding e-mail that stated: ’’Keep him! I don’t want to take him across the River Styx. He might try to tame Cerberus (the three headed guard dog) and turn him into a loveable little pussy cat.’ I’m happy to report that God honored Death’’s wish and kept me for His own purpose and life mission.
