From the outset of my Christian ministry, God had placed prayer in my heart that went throughout communities. Early Morning Prayer gathering took place in my home. Several members of the community came to our home. Prayer was prayed in our family living room. After I enrolled in Seminary, prayers were given in Chapel, at my home church and for individuals.
In January 1998, I became the Radio Host for Praise Voice of Victory Broadcast on WCRY Joy 1460 AM in Fuqua Varina, North Carolina. We not only preached the Word but prayers were given over the air ways. O, what a joy it was to pray and lift up community members desiring prayer for their spoken and unspoken requests.
From week to week, prayer continued to be given in various settings in the morning and evenings worship, graduations and commencements, hospitals, jails, prisons, prayer services, prayer breakfasts, luncheons and brunches. On Friday night intercessory prayer was held in my former home church in Moncure. Special prayer requests were made at funerals, houses and baby dedications and in anointing services. By being in prayer constantly, it has kept me going, especially when sickness was in my home. Prayers were made in Seminary before and at test time.
I am compelled to say, God answered some prayers and at other times the answer came to wait. Through it all, I am convinced that prayer is a part of my purpose. It is a great privilege to call upon the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in prayer by faith.
As we follow Christ’s instruction, I believe the Word works by faith. In all circumstances, situations, ordeals and concerns, these Words “Ask and it shall be given” Matt 7:7A works. Therefore, I have compiled my prayers of various settings and placed them in this publication. I give God praise for every one praying these prayers in Jesus name.

A praying Christian will be full of the Holy Spirit and ready for battle as God leads one in prayer such as the prayers in the pages of this book.
About the Author
Dr. Sheila Crump was born and reared in Chatham County, North Carolina and graduated from Shaw Divinity School and Shaw University in Raleigh, North Carolina with a Bachelor Degree in Theology and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Liberal Studies (Multidisciplinary). She received a Master of Divinity Degree from Shaw University Divinity School in Raleigh, NC. In May 2009, she received the Doctor of Ministry Degree from Slidell Baptist Seminary in Slidell, Louisiana. She is listed in the Who’s Who among Students in American Universities and Colleges, the National Dean’s list, All American Scholar, National Award Winner, Pinnacle and Gold Medal Honors.
She is one of the first female Deacon ordained at Liberty Chapel United Church of Christ (Former home church), First female of Liberty Chapel United Church of Christ ordained into the Christian Ministry (1985-1997 102 years). First black female preached in Moncure Baptist Church Moncure, NC and the First female Assistant Pastor at Sandhill United Church of Christ. For six years, she served as Assistant Pastor under the senior pastorate of Rev. Cleno Harris, Jr. at the Sandhill United Church of Christ in Aberdeen, North Carolina.
She is the Founder of SC Ministries in Moncure, North Carolina and the Founder and Pastor of Word of Life Church in Jonesboro, North Carolina. She is Christ’s servant, friend, a community leader, former Radio host, intercessor, mentor and advocate for spiritual and societal change. Dr. Crump has two adult daughters, three granddaughters and one son-in-law.
