About the Book

This is mostly a picture book for those who love to see cats and kittens. It is also an educational book about the birth of kittens and a story about the cat that gives birth. The simplicity of the story directs the book to young children although those older might find it educational as well since many people have not seen the birth of kittens and don't know what to expect.

About the Author

Rebecca Niehaus was born in Illinois in 1954 and raised predominately in Missouri. She inherited her interest in photography from her mother who loved to document family life through pictures. Rebecca moved to the San Francisco Bay area after completing her second year of college, bringing along her passion for both cats and photography. In 1998 Rebecca began rescuing cats from the street (strays), abusive owners, or owners who no longer wanted or could keep their cats. This book is produced in hopes of promoting responsible pet ownership by having pets spayed and neutered. While at the same time satisfying people’s desire to witness the miracle of birth by using this book as a substitute to bringing possibly unwanted kittens into their lives. The photographs here are the culmination of a lifetime of discovering her niche, and the cats who have brought joy to her life, as well as “life” to her life.
