About the Book

Kate Dodson thinks she has everything figured out. She just moved into a new house that she loves, and her job at little Joes diner pays the bills. She loves being single, and can’t imagine being tied down to a husband, or children. But there are missing pieces in her life. Her twin sister, Kloe vanished years ago, and no one can seem to find her. But one day, out of the blue, two children show up at the diner where she works. They claim that they are her long lost niece and nephew, and they have a letter from Kloe. The letter explains that the children are in danger, but not what kind of danger. And it doesn’t give any clue about Kloe’s whereabouts. Suddenly, Kate is thrust into parenthood, while desperately trying to find her sister, before it’s too late. At the same time, she meets a man and develops feelings for him, but will she be able to take a chance on love after having her heart broken in the past?

About the Author

I have always had a love of writing. Since I was a young girl, I would spend a lot of time writing short stories. I still remember the journal type books I would write in, long before the days of computers. I love making my characters come to life. Sometimes it's hard for me to believe they aren't real people! I try to make some time for writing every day. I also love to read, and I'm a big fan of romance mixed with a little mystery. Nicholas Sparks and Jodi Picoult are two of my favorite authors. I even had the pleasure of meeting Nicholas Sparks at a book signing in Sacramento. That's what inspired me to finish Lost and Found. I was a child development major at American River College, and that has really helped me in creating my characters. It's always helpful to know where they came from, before I write about where they're going! I also took some classes in creative writing, and it was helpful for me to be around other people who love to write. I have always lived in Sacramento, and I love working with children. I am a preschool teacher, and I love making a difference every day. I am part of a big family, and I love every one of them. In 2007, I married my wonderful husband, who I met on E harmony. I never thought I would meet the love of my life online, but I've learned that great things happen when you least expect it. We have a two and a half year old son, and watching him grow has been one of the greatest joys of my life.
