A Night to Remember

Finding love had always been a challenge for Mindy Wilson. Her friends describe her as a petite girl with a flawless figure and a friendly outgoing personality. Her shoulder length strawberry blonde hair and blue eyes are her strong features. Despite having these qualities, she seemed to attract all the wrong guys. She was constantly reminded by her friends that she was too nice, which explained why she attracted the "nerds". She shuddered as she thought of the dreadful dates she had endured, not wanting to hurt someone's feelings. It was now or never to learn to say "no to a nerd". Taking a deep breath for courage, she continued, "Dean, thank you for being concerned about me. I'm glad you called as I need to talk to you. I don't know the best way to say this, so I'm just going to say it, and hope you will receive it in the kindest way possible. I like you as a friend, but I'm not romantically interested in you. I don't want to hurt your feelings and just haven't known how to let you know. Do you understand what I'm trying to say" she asked in her most firm voice? "I don't like what you're saying Mindy. I don't think you've given us a chance. I'm a lot of fun once you get to know me" he pleaded. "Dean, please don't make this harder than it has to be. As I've already told you, I'm not interested in dating you and consider you as a friend only. I'm going to hang up now. Goodbye Dean". Her heart and adrenaline racing, she collapsed into her chair. Would she ever find Mr. Right?
