About the Book

The Backyard is a place for stories - as is a train, a hospital bed, a pub, a squat, a day trip to the seaside, a holiday - or even a bath tub. These tales, from close to home and other places, are offered to amuse, shock, surprise and entertain you. Some tell of hope, a better tomorrow, while others tell of the darker, sadder side of life.

About the Author

Doreen Fiol was born in London but now lives in Cornwall with her husband and two dogs, close to their large family. She has written and produced many plays for children and has had two children's books published, along with articles and adult stories in magazines and anthologies. This is her first collection of short stories. She is currently working on an adult novel.
