Several examples of educational misconduct come to mind. I recall one instance when a teacher called in sick. The Superintendent of the School District had occasion that day to travel to Lansing, Michigan—the capitol of the State of Michigan, to conduct some aspect of the school district’s official business. Either during his travels to or from the capitol, he stopped at a roadside stand to buy a dozen eggs and perhaps some other foodstuffs. The person manning the roadside stand was none other than the teacher who had called in sick. The offense was such that the teacher was subsequently fired from her position. X Sometimes, though, what is good for the goose is not good for the gander—or vice versa. At some later point in time, this same superintendent and his assistant superintendent supposedly traveled again to the State capitol to conduct some more of the school district’s business. Whether any of the school district’s business was ever conducted remained a question, because it was reported in the next day’s newspaper that one of the two had hit a hole-in-one on a golf course—and their names were printed in the newspaper. One or more of their secretaries then posted an anonymous note on the office bulletin board which said in essence, “From now on, when you tell us that you are going to travel to Lansing to conduct school district business, we’ll all know what you’re really doing.!” Needless to say, neither the superintendent nor the assistant superintendent received any disciplinary action by the School Board.

About the Book
This book is entitled “ A Rear View Mirror OF My Life” and in essence, it contains additional memories of the author’s life that were not included in his first book, “Life’s Reflections” with a sub-title of “From A Toddler To Eternity”. For that reason, as was the case with his first book, there is no one central theme with this book. There are, however, hundreds of vignettes that hopefully will beckon the reader to benefit from some of the lessons that he has learned in his seven decades of life. This book contains six chapters as follows: Chapter One, Educational Perspectives; Chapter Two, Alaska Tales; Chapter Three, Miscellaneous Moments; Chapter Four, Societal Observations; Chapter Five, Travel Tales; Chapter Six, My Greatest Gift
About the Author
The author was born and raised in Flint, Michigan, a general Motors factory town. He graduated with distinction both is high school and at the University of Michigan where he earned Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Education, and a doctor of Philosophy degree in School Administration positions both in Michigan and Alaska state Professional Teaching Practices Commission. After retirement, he moved to Americus Georgia in 1988, but he continued to spend the summers in Michigan. His first wife passed away with bone cancer in 1995 and he remarried in 1996. His second was a born-again Christian, and she was instrumental in his receipt of the Holy Spirit in 1999 while attending Cornerstone Church. He has served his church in a variety of capacities, and is currently an Elder there. In addition, and as a direct result of his becoming a born-again Christian, he also authorized an autobiography entitled “Life’s Reflections” with the sub-title of “From A Toddler To Eternity” which was published by AuthorHouse in January, 2007. His second book, “Heavenly Poems and Prose” was also published by AuthorHouse in January, 2011
