About the Book
Little Raccoon grew up under the love and protection of his mother. They lived in a hollow tree and played in the fields of flowers. She taught him all he needed to know to grow healthy and safely within their part of the world. But as Little Raccoon grew, he found it more and more compelling to explore farther and farther from the protection and safety of his home. When Little Raccoon comes upon some other raccoons playing in the meadow, he wanders past his boundaries on the quest to find independence and freedom.
About the Author
I have written this book to help parents and children learn what matters when faced with life's challenges. After raising four children and teaching for 32 years, it is important that children have help in many of life's important problems. This book addresses the power of peer pressure and the inner conflict that goes with it. I have made one of life's most difficult experiences come to life through Little Raccoon and his quest for independence and freedom. I currently live in Danville, Illinois. I have taught twenty-one of my thirty-two years at Schlarman Academy. I live in the country with my two dogs and two cats. My four children have left to find their own unique dreams.
