This book takes the angler back to the basics of freshwater fishing. The book is written for the experienced angler who has taken a break from fishing and wants to get refreshed on many of the basics. it is also for parents and youngsters who want to learn the correct ways to get started fishing. The book covers several aspects of an anglers responsibility as a conservationist, describes the various aspects of different fishing equipment such as rods and reels, line selection, knots, baits and lures and a variety of fishing techniques for both the beginner and experienced angler. The reader is later taken into some of the more advanced concepts of electronic equipment available to anglers including many of the common images that are seen on Sonar fish finding equipment.

About the Book
This book takes freshwater fishing all the way back to basics. The book was designed to appeal to family members as a text book on the "how to" of freshwater fishing, starting with the basic theory of the life of a fish, the waters in which they live, the tools that are required to become a good angler and details on how to find and catch freshwater fish. The book is well illustrated for easier understanding and will help those who want to learn to fish but have not had the opportunity to practice the sport.
About the Author
Jake spent his professional career as an engineer and later member of management of an Aerospace Company. His engineering background provides him the capability to write books that blend the science of fishing with the sport of fishing. As a private pilot and aircraft owner he was able to travel around the USA and Canada gathering information for his many books. Now retired, Jake spends hundreds of hours each year on the water testing his theories and permitting him to present some rather drastic modifications to conventional fishing theory. Jake is a regular lectured at Gander Mountain in Mooresville NC and also a staff writer for ODU magazine. His books are down to earth and easy to read.
