Suspended from a rope in the middle of the room was the body of a teenage boy, hanging from his neck, his head tilted unnaturally to one side and his eyes open. Those eyes looked straight at Albert. The boy was round-faced and open-mouthed. The body turned slightly at the end of its rope, but the eyes seemed to continue focusing on Albert.
Albert pressed his back against the wall outside the room door. It took him a moment to control his breathing and for the fear to subside. After several seconds he steeled himself and peeked around the corner again.
The hanged body was nowhere in sight.
