About the Book
"Poetic Transitions Fall: 2nd of a 4-Part Poetry Series" is as it reads, the follow-up book to "Poetic Transitions Winter: 1st of a 4-Part Poetry Series". This book contains poetry that has been written during my adult life. Poetry that is not as "dark" as the first book seeing that it contained the elements of a stage of my life that included lots of death. But, this book does contain the intimate details of an era of my adult life that concerned lots of relationships, especially with men, whether they were relationships with my sons, fathers, husband, or friends. There is likewise poetry, as there will always in each issue be, that is dedicated to loved ones gone, but not forgotten. This poetry is real. Love, lust, desire, intimacy, respect, intimidation, deceit, rejection, affection, are all appropriate adjectives to describe some of the feelings that this book subjects you too. Each book is designed to become "lighter and lighter" in its contents, with the final episode hopefully being totally about God. Someone stated at a poetry reading that an author once told her that when we share our poetry we give the audience a piece of us, I hope that this piece of me, Fall, will enlighten you to the windy and color-changing portion of my life.
About the Author
Ms. Adesha Letrise Madison was born on January 22, 1976 to the late Miss Ruby Lee Madison and the late Mr. Isaiah P. "IKE" Square, Sr. She was reared by great auntie and uncle/adopted parents Mr. & Mrs. Eddie and Corine (Wesley) Taylor. She was born & raised in the West Monroe, La. area. She is a West Monroe High School graduate. Her high school education is complemented with an Associate Degree from Louisiana Technical College (Delta Ouachita Campus) as well as futher education from Stautzenberger College in Toledo, Ohio. It is her intention to pursue and complete her education in counseling or Psychology @ The University of Louisiana @ Monroe. Ms. Madison has a poetry column under the direction of Pastor Roosevelt Wright, founder of "The Free Press" newspaper, that appears weekly in each Thursday edition. She has likewise written for numerous funeral programs, birthday cards, and other special occasions for family and friends, as well as made public appearances to present such poetry. Classified on her list of VIP personal privileges is being the mother of four sons: Clifton Daljuan Xavier Henry, Chorlandrious Raigh Henry, Christopher Edward Reese Earl, and Keon Jayverick Deshawn Earl. Ms. Madison's mentors are poetic legends such as the late great Mr. Langston Hughes and the great Dr. Maya Angelou. She whiches to aspire after them but to maintain her own poetic style and bring her own touch to the literary realm hopefully becoming a trendsetter herself. Ms. Madison carries the self-acclaimed title of "Poetress With A Purpose" and the poetry that she does is acclaimed to be "Poetry With A Purpose," considering that she whiches to touch many or all with her talent and contribute to worthy causes of the community.
