About the Book

This publication about prostate cancer is part of a continuing public and professional education program. During the last decade the therapeutic spectrum of prostate cancer has changed dramatically. This prostate cancer manual is intended to present the complex nature of this cancer, the standard treatments and new therapeutic alternatives that have recently been approved and bring new possibilities of a cure.

This manual is not intended as a substitute for professional healthcare. It is a preliminary guide to educate patients about treatment options and about the disease itself, so they will be better prepared to discuss it with their health care practitioners.

Due to the high level of the scientific information content, this manual is also for students of medicine and healthcare professionals in general.

About the Author

Dr. Luis Mendoza, is a certified medical oncologist with nearly two decades of professional experience. As a physician he has a track record in different countries. Currently, he offers his professional services to the pharmaceutical industry and is one of Europe’s leading experts in the early clinical development of new anticancer drugs. In 1995, he earned a certificate in medical oncology from the Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona (Spain) and he earned a Ph.D. in the field of immunology and oncology after working as a researcher at the Academy of Sciences in Prague (Czech Republic) in 2008. Dr. Mendoza was nominated by Worldwide Who's Who as a medical oncologist in 2012. He has authored dozens of scientific medical papers, educational books in oncology and is a member of the most renowned medical societies of oncology.
