About the Book

From the ways a dog shares life and experiences with his master, these poems play on the simple ways of the life we shared in the hills of West Virginia. As such, they reflect that sharing that comes so naturally between a dog - Arthur - and his master - me.

About the Author

I compile this book of poems related to my dog Arthur. Arthur was an Australian Shepherd and lived wiith me and my wife on our ridge in the Norhtern Panhandle of West Virginia. I wrote the poems in response to him and the events we shared along the way. He shared the first years of my retirement from active ministry; I have been an ordained minister in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) since 1976. My intent was not to celebrate Arthur when the poems were written; now that they are compiled, that is exactly my intent.
