About the Book

What's so fascinating about my book "Urban Poetry for our Times" is how the poetry pertains to the inner souls of individuals; using different forms of expressions and reactions through its facing of the world in general. From an emotional, philosophical standpoint, it has a very innocent approach to how it directly tackles the complexity and yet fragile situation of a human's struggle to survive different obstacles.

About the Author

I started writing when i was a little kid, what can i say "I just have a natural born passion for it". I was around 5 years old when i got my first diary, which i wrote in everyday about my inner feelings; in doing so, it gave me alot of comfort & satisfaction. So, from then on; i continued keeping a journal of some sort available inorder to keep expressing my thoughts whenever i needed too. Over the years, since my youth; writing has become easier and easier for me. Such an enjoyment of course, I mean; i began to absolutely love it!!!! When i started college i immediately took a interest in my English 101 & Reading classes, and what did i know; 'i did pretty darn good in those classes i may add'. I mean, "I was making A's and B's in both those courses!!! Eventhough, I started out as an Accounting major at Morgan State University in Spring '97 i know where my heart was at; and that was in Writing!!! So, I will say; college has definitely enhanced and enriched my writing skill's so much. Honestly, it wasn't until 2002 that i really felt like hey; "I want to become a Writer on a Professional level. So, I began writing my first book; which was me feeling like I wanted to share with the universe my view of the world through my eyes. And, what better way to do it; then with poetry??? I mean, I embraced my poetic creativity which open arms; and the words just began to flow on that paper like melted butter on bread. It was such a relief to finally be able to release my emotions, good ones, as well as; painful ones. But, all in all; it was a nice new freedom i' ve never felt before!!! That's why I choose to continue feeling it, over and over again; through the writing of my very first poetry book, which is called "Urban Poetry for Our Times". I look forward to continuing the advancement of my writing career, and rightfully taking my place in delighting minds, as well as; entertaining & fascinating the readers. And just maybe, it'll expand their own way of thinking, of imagination, creativity, and thirst, so much so; that it will also excite them enough to broaden & embrace their minds. In hopes of being able to realize and experience 'what true freedom it brings in your life', 'to be able to have the opportunity too express your thoughts and feelings on paper; to share with fellow mankind'. As well as, to be acknowledged for it & appreciated by them for just doing something; you absolutely love.
