About the Book

In the book " A Connecticut Yankee Ponders Her Past", Grace combines family history, local history, and Connecticut history with personal scenes of her early childhood in the thirties and forties. She also includes several family genealogies going back to the beginning of the State as well as touching on her Italian ancestry. She writes with the conviction that her childhood days were lived at a better time.

About the Author

Grace McClain is a Senior Vice President with a financial services organization. She and her husband, Tommy Gene McClain have worked as a team since joining the firm in Dallas in l981 Prior to that they owned and operated a real estate firm in Rockwall, Texas where they raised their five children. Although Grace loves Texas, the home state of her Texas husband, her home state of Connecticut will always have a special place in her heart. It is also true while she has been in the financial service industry for over forty years, her first love has been her study and teaching of the Bible together with mentoring her children and grandchildren. She has since childhood enjoyed writing and has written poetry and two other books, “Desire of Your Heart” and “To Give You a Future and a Hope.” She and her husband reside in New Haven County, Connecticut where her ancestors have lived since Connecticut began.
