About the Book

ABSTRACT It is an abridged form of Towards an Igbo Metaphysics in which Fr. Edeh used Igbo Metaphysics to articulate African philosophy. In this work, the concept of being is derived from the Igbo concept of man which is “Mmadi”, the good that is. The goodness of being is derived from the fact of creation that means coming from the Supreme good “Chineke”. Man is created by God as Chineke and continuously cared for by God as Osebuluwa. With this fact, man is dignified, deserves to be cared for and respected by fellow human beings, the good that are. The special characteristic of African Philosophy is that it is identified with thought and action (EPITAISM). For the fact that African Philosophy sees man as dignified, deserving respect, that makes African Philosophy different from the philosophy that sees man as wolf to man. If this African philosophy is widely accepted, it will certainly lead to the solving the problem of world peace.

About the Author

REV. FR. PROF. EMMANUEL MATTHEW PAUL EDEH, THE FATHER FOUNDER Born in Akpugo in Nkanu Local Government of Enugu State Nigeria, to the family of Mr. Joseph Edeh Ani Onovo and Mrs. Elizabeth, nicknamed “Mama Omeogo” (Mother of Charity) due to her deep life of intensive charity. The birth of the unique child came after the mother’s sixteen years of childlessness. In the night before that day, just after dinner, a glow of light was seen flash across the day sky, illuminating the darkness like a star with a tail, indicating that a child destined for greatness was born. The following day 20th May 1947 “Omeogo” gave birth to a male child at about 3pm. That day the boy was suddenly greeted by a natural phenomenon known as “the 1947 total eclipse of the sun”. Thus, the Great Articulator of African Philosophy; the Servant Leader; a role model in the Strategic realization of Millennium Development Goals; the founder of the First Peace, Justice and Reconciliation Centre in the world, the founder of Edeh’s Charity Peace and Mma-di Peace Models, the founder of the largest museum of charms and fetish objects, the founder of the largest Pilgrimage Centre in Africa, the pillar of Education in Africa, the Pillar of World Peace, the Spiritual man of God, has arrived to gather the broken hearted, the downtrodden and the abjectly poor, and to bring peace to the modern world.
