About the Book

This book is about kinship placement which means that a child can be placed in a home of someone they knew before they lost their parents. It’s similar to being adopted but not by strangers. This will help a child understand when she goes to live with somebody who they knew before they lost their parents.

About the Author

Glenda Reeder Tolliver is a retired LMSW. She worked in this capacity for 30 years. Twenty five years were spent in the foster care system in the state of Texas. As a social worker she was able to place children in foster care, in adoptive homes, relative’s homes, and kinship homes. Kinship placement consists of families who knew the children before they came into foster care. Her own biological father was placed in a kinship placement at the age of three. Therefore, Ms. Tolliver had a personal history of kinship placement before she was employed as a LMSW
