About the Book

Everybody deals with problems and grief in different ways. After the death of her mother, AL Draper’s grief curve took a very different angle, in the form of poetry. Not only did this creep up on her unexpectedly, it lasted for three days. Having never written poetry before, she began to write about both her mother and her life, and, finally, her observations of the world in which she lives. Three days later, she had written over seventy poems which expressed her deepest thoughts and feelings. In this book, she shares these poems with you, hoping you will enjoy her words.

About the Author

As a qualified hypnotherapist, AL Draper believes that the most important thing we learn is inner self-talk. What we think shapes our individual future, and, ultimately, writes the story which will become the life path for each of us. The author never attended college or university when she was young, but living in a poor working-class area, she did attend the school of hard knocks. Her humble background never deterred her determination and desire to achieve success and happiness in life. She has seen and experienced more than most in her forty-four years on this earth, finding herself in some impossible situations, including homelessness, domestic violence, and bankruptcy. However, along with the lows she has had many highs, such as business enterprise awards and recognition as a top sales executive for a major bank. She currently lives in the north-west of England, where she was born. She has four children, including a set of twins, and two grandchildren; they are the achievements of which she is proudest. Currently she is back at school after many years, studying to be a qualified psychotherapist.
