About the Book

This short story is part of a series of stories about a small piglet that found himself alone when his parents disappeared after he was born. Piglet is looked after by a friendly farmer called Hillary. Piglet’s imagination is inspired by some of the animals that he meets on the farm, especially Frances the swan, and Artemis the white racehorse. Piglet’s adventures start when he desires to fly. But he doesn’t know how. With some advice from the swan, he learns that anything is possible. Piglet’s adventures always start when he goes to sleep and dreams. He can fly and visit any place he desires. He meets various animals along the way; some help him, and some don’t.

About the Author

Mike Gambo was born in Foggia, Italy, in 1957. He came to the United Kingdom at 3 months old. His father first came to the UK when the country was seeking a workforce of immigrants to work at the British Steel foundry in Swansea, South Wales. Mike followed later with his mother. After leaving school at the age of 16, Michael took an apprenticeship as a bricklayer, really at his father’s request. Mike’s real interest was in music. By the age of 17 he was already showing his creative flare by writing most of the material for his first band. At 19, he collaborated with his now long-time friend, writing music for an eight-piece jazz funk band. They appeared on several network stations and toured Europe. To date, Mike has established a small video-production company, producing videos for sport, theatre, and open events and for weddings. He is now dedicated to pursuing a writing career. Mike is not new to telling stories; he discovered his creative imagination for telling stories as a form of entertainment while looking after his two small children. He thought nothing more about it until his first grandchild was born and his ability to tell stories came to the forefront once again. It was then that he decided that if he could create such a reaction from telling stories, he should let other readers have the same experience that his family enjoyed for many years.
