On October 12th, it was time for our church quarterly meeting to be held. The quarterly church meeting are normally held every 3 months, on the 2nd Monday of the month at 7:00 pm. The members were all on time, and waiting for the meeting to take place in the church sanctuary. They were all sitting around laughing, and joking one another about an event that they had attended a while ago. Jobe entered into the sanctuary and called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm. He stated that they were going to allow the Governing Ministry, 5 more minutes to approach the meeting. Jobe and the members were just waiting patiently for them to approach the meeting. All of a sudden, the doors open and you could the wind blowing, like a storm was on the way. Deceitful was the ring leader. The Governing Ministry, marched into the sanctuary one by one, after Deceitful, singing today is the day. All the members turned around and looked. You couldn’t hear a pin drop. The members that were on the Governing Ministry, are as follows Deceitful, Righteous, Jacob, Jezebel, Sarah, Rebecca, Brew, and Crooked. Jobe prayed a powerful prayer, followed by a scripture read. The scripture that Jobe read was PROVERBS CHAPTER 3 VERSES 5 & 6 .TRUST IN THE LORD WITH ALL YOUR HEART,AND LEAN NOT ON YOUR OWN UNDERSTANDING: IN ALL YOUR WAYS ACKNOWLEDGE HIM: AND HE SHALL DIRECT YOUR PATHS. Jobe had his agenda as he would always have prepared. As Jobe was following the order of his agenda, before he could finished addressing the congregation with several upcoming events that he wanted everyone to support, Deceitful interrupted the meeting, and took charge along with the Governing Ministry. The congregation kept Jobe appease, for a while. Oh boy, we saw this strange look on Jobe face, and it wasn’t a pleasant look. They had all the power at that point. The members were surprised, by how the Governing Ministry, thought they had so much power. This was like it was a ONE MAN’ CHURCH, telling the governing ministry, when to speak, when not to speak, what to say, and what not to say. Deceitful really believe that Church of The Wicked and Evil belonged to him. He thought he ran Jobe, and the congregation. Deceitful, and all members of the Governing Ministry tried to discredit Jobe every time he made recommendations for the betterment of the church. Deceitful made a statement, and stated again, and again, he have been there over 50 years, and there will not be any changes made as long as he was living. That was a powerful statement for One Man to make. I said in my mind, Church Isn’t Always What It Seems!! This Is a One man Church. A nonmember who thought so highly of Jobe, ask could he stepped in to be a mediator. Jobe said sure, he open the floor for any concerns, and tried his best to make things right for the wellbeing of the church The nonmember begged, pleaded, and tried with all his might to talk some sense into Deceitful. The nonmember said to Deceitful, Do you know that it’s a fearful thing to mistreat the Man of God... Deceitful felt like he was biased, he acted like a crazy man that had totally lost his mind. The nonmember told him that he was an awesome Man of God, but he could not, and will not sit around and listen to that heathen disrespect him, and he said to Jobe he will continue to pray for him, and Church of The Wicked and Evil, and he left. Jobe ask all members to pray for one another, and continue to seek the lord. Jobe ask all the members to come down to the altar, formed a letter u, which stands for unity, and join hands with one another Jobe started to pray “, His 1st words were God help this ministry We need you more than ever right now Lord. Lord we ask that you will hear our humble cry. The men start singing Devil you’re a liar. Jobe continued to pray, He adjourned the meeting at 8:45 pm.

Faith always went to church as a child, but as an adult, she decided that church is not for her. Just like anybody else, she loves to party and have fun, but along the way, she faces life’s trials and tribulations and decides to go back to church and give her life to God. Faith becomes a devoted, faithful member, but this time around in church, she sees and experiences a lot along the way, dealing with one wicked man who thinks he is God. Faith does not believe half of what she sees or what she hears, or even half of the events that take place. So much takes place in the house of the Lord no one can ever know what to expect and everyone has to be on pins and needles. Instead of getting the solace and peace they look for when attending church, the members get nothing but hell-raising. Faith starts to understand why people talk unkindly about Christian folk and don’t go to church like they used to. This makes her realize that church isn’t always what it seems and that it’s really a one-man church.
About the Author
Joann W. Cox is the beloved daughter of the late Queen Esther Moseley White Brown and the late Joseph White Sr. She is one of eight children who were raised by their mother, who was the queen of their hearts and who was a very affectionate and noble person. Joann’s mother always gave her an affirmative reply when she asked a question. Her father played a small role in her childhood, but that changed, and they became close when he relocated to another state. Later on in life, her mother met Tommie L. Brown, and he helped rear Joann and her siblings. Joann loved and respected her mother to the fullest. Her mother was a strong woman, and she instilled in Joann the significance of always putting God first in her life as she was growing up and becoming a woman. She also told her how important it is to always belong to a church that she can call her church home and the importance of a family being connected to one another. Joann was married to the late Ira S. Cox, and she was a devoted, faithful military spouse for years. She lost her husband at an early age when he was only thirty-seven years old. From that union, two children were born. Joann is the very proud mother of her two children, Kennesha E. Cox and Dominique D. Cox. She is blessed by the best, none other than the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Later through the years, Joann met William E. Newsome Jr. who is the love of her life, and she is very content with him. With God’s grace and William’s assistance, she was able to send her kids to college to get a better education. They truly feel gratified, and they are very grateful for all that he has done and all that he will continue to do. Joann is the grandmother of Jahquine T. Cox and Jahzya T. Cox. Her grandkids are the apple of her eye. Joann’s first priority is making sure that her family is all right on a daily basis. Joann is a fun person to be around. She is very strong in speaking her mind. Joann loves real people, and some of her hobbies are fund-raising, dancing, listening to oldies but goodies, shopping, taking trips to casinos, playing cards, talking on the telephone, and listening to gospel music. She has also always enjoyed helping the elderly in any way she can in her spare time. Joann’s door has always been open to neighborhood children, family, and friends for a home-cooked meal. She is known as one of the best cooks around. Joann is a dedicated, faithful member of her church and a follower of the most high God. She is a member of Beulah Beauty of the World Temple #4 along with two of her siblings, Suzann and Annette. She is a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School. She attended Kee Business College for a short term. Joann resides in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
