About the Book
I have written this book because information on this company and its production items is sparse and very confusing. The confusion arises from the fact that its marbles appear in boxes and bags of two other major companies: Akro Agate Company and Master Marble Company. I am hoping to clear it up, to provide information to distinguish its items from those of the other two, and to provide reliable pricing for Master Class Company products. Some pricing is also included for Master Marble Company.
About the Author
I’ve been collecting marbles for 24 years, and I’ve been building my marble archives for twenty years. For 12 of those years, I did shows in shopping malls and on fairgrounds, selling collectables. This allowed me to buy marbles from the public and to meet many marble collectors east of Mississippi. At least 9 of them have collections worth more than $200,000. Seven allowed me to see and photograph some of their best items. These photos are in my more than 4,500 archival photos. Two are in this book. Although this is my first book on marbles, I have written 19 articles for marble club newsletters. All have been designed, published, and sold 7 large (13'' x 19) marble posters. I have also given talks at several marble shows. I attend three marble shows a year. I am in contact with 3 other archivists and talk often with several major marble collectors. I monitor pricing of marbles and related items on eBay and online toy auctions. The pricing herein should be excellent estimates for collectors and dealers in collectables.
