LAWS
In business, we play pretty much by the rules, but in our private lives, we are anarchists.
FRIENDS
There’s only one thing wrong about doing a favor for a friend. The first time they appreciate it. The next time they expect it.
INSTANT ENLIGHTENMENT
What is the difference between an ignorant person and an educated person? Observe closely. I said ignorant, not stupid. There is a vast difference between the two. An educated person is given license by his peers to expound on things that an ignorant person suspected all along.
FEARLESSNESS
Bravery is a very moving thing, and moving is a very brave thing.
PROTECTION
The guy says: “What’s your name? Not that I really care, but it could come in handy in case I need a reference”.
MR. MULLIGAN SMOOT
The first time I saw him (Mr. Mulligan Smoot) I was just five
And he had on a wonderful grey suit.
He was my father’s brother (him being Humphrey J. Smoot), an investment broker of no small repute.
Arthur B. Pranger
Now, Mulligan Smoot was an entrepreneur who dabbled in fads year after year,
And he made lots of loot from these dubious endeavors
So he invested with Dad and they made much loot together.
But, one day the fads faded, and all he had left was he
(Mulligan Smoot) and his wonderful grey suit.
He came to visit and eventually stayed, much to my mother’s
Complete dismay.
And then, (I guess it was the times), my father went out and made for us lots of dimes.
He played the game well, but his deck had no picture of kings
Nor queens, for, you see, he set a precedent – his deck was
Composed of pictures of presidents.
And he very, rarely, lost a pot maybe that was the difference
Between Mulligan and Pop.
I was sent to the finest schools and taught many truths, like
History, Geography, and how to be a Snoot.
And when I’d come home, there he’d be (Mulligan Smoot). And I’d tell him about all the truths I’d been taught and Old Mulligan would explain all the truths I’d been taught.
And I was amazed that a truth explained is much better than
One truth that is just taught.
So I came to like Mr. Mulligan Smoot, (along with his
Wonderful grey suit.)
He grew older (Mr. Mulligan Smoot), but I continued to like Him, although my mother never did, since his fortunes went kaput.
Then one day he died (Mr. Mulligan Smoot), and they buried Him nicely in his tattered grey suit, and I thought to Myself many years later –
Hadn’t they buried a little of me along with
Mr. Mulligan Smoot?

Grown-ups ride bicycles, in-line skates, run around the streets and toss balls through hoops. Kids work with computers and figure out the world’s social evils as per their teachers.
The closest things to freedom in this country are Saturdays and Sundays. Most government agencies are closed.
I believe that drugs are a physical habit and drinking is a mental habit.
Hitler’s dictatorship was to do things his way for the good of
Germany.
Communism is a dictatorship to do things their way, for the good of communism, people but no God.
The fallacy being fallible ideas in every field. If they decide on a change, even a drastic change, heads roll. It’s hard to unlearn people once they’ve been taught. This keeps everyone off balance, and while they’re mulling over the proposed new against the old, things go on pretty much the same, until
the new kind of blends with the old and smoothes itself out. Most of it is acquired by talk when action is required.
WHY NOT
And she says, “Why don’t you make sense?” He says, “Why should I be the only one in this world to make sense?” If
he said, “And the mountains in the distance…” that would mean he knew what mountains were. If he said, “And the mountains in the distance with all their mighty magnificence, poking their peaks through the clouds, that would mean that he is some sort of a grand authority on mountains and who knows what else?
