The wandering Sorcerer Mayard Klarje addressed Jethro, “Jethro, do you have a problem with the red mark on my face?” Jethro stammered, “Uh…no, Sorcerer Mayard. Why would anyone have a problem with the greatest sorcerer in the history of Magick! Is it true you have the power to turn people into toads?” Mayard said, “It’s been known to happen, but only if they really deserved it. Why do you tease Rhiann?” Jethro dejectedly said, “I’ll start learning to croak so I can be a better toad than sorcerer.” Mayard fought back laughter and struggled to keep a straight face and followed, “That may not be necessary, Jethro. Touch the red mark of my face.” Jethro stammered, “Uh… why, Teacher?” Mayard calmly replied, “Touch it. It won’t hurt you.” Jethro gingerly extended his right index finger and touched the red mark. He youth sighed with relief when nothing happened. Mayard continued, “Now touch Rhiann’s mark.” Jethro hesitated briefly and then did so. Mayard followed, “Now touch your face.” Once again young Jethro did as the sorcerer asked. Mayard asked, “What did you feel when you touched our faces?” Jethro answered. “Just skin, teacher.” Mayard answered, “Did you feel any difference in the red skin on Rhiann’s and my face?” Jethro replied, “No, Teacher, it just felt like skin.” Mayard Klarje said, “Jethro. If someone looks different, it doesn’t mean they are less important and lack feelings. Magick is not to be used frivolously, young sorcerers. Think about the consequences of your actions. Always let your hearts guide your deeds.”

About the Book
Thirttene Friends is a prequel to the Elfdreams of Parallan and Donothor series and chronicles the early life of the sorcerer Rhiann Klarje and the sorcerer’s efforts to preserve the treasures of the world of Magick Sagain. The discovery of the source of Sagain’s Magick and a great spell that conquers space and time facilitates Rhiann’s travels to other worlds. and the establishment of the circle of Thirttene Friends in Green Vale in the World of the Three Suns. Preternatural Old Ones, including the Siren Maranna and a host of fantastic creatures, and steadfast Gnome friends help the young sorcerer in his efforts. Dark forces from within and without Sagain oppose his efforts. Thirttene Friends provides an introduction to the worlds Sagain, Donothor, and Parallan, the World of the bThree Suns. The stories continue in Lost Spellweaver, First Wandmaker, Wandmaker’s Burden, Emerald Islands, Mender’s Tomb, Deathquest to Parallan, Orb of Chalar, Chalice of Mystery, and Death of Magick.
About the Author
Benjamin Towe was an avid Dungeons and Dragons player in the 1980s. “Doctor T” is a fan of classic fantasy and an avid Whovian. The old Dungeon Master Doctor T enjoys reading and writing science fiction and fantasy and supporting independent authors. Ben loves all things magic and make believe. The Donothor and Elfdreams series are Doctor T’s Rx for a different kind of sci-fi/fantasy. Dr. Ben grew up in Carroll County, Virginia, He graduated from Mt. Airy (NC) High School, Davidson College, and the University of Virginia School of Medicine. He proudly served five years in the United States Army Medical and attained the rank of major. Dr. Towe lives in martinez, Georgia, with his wife of over forty years Libby.
