About the Book

The Lonely Little Christmas Tree is an inspirational story of Christmas spirit and holiday tradition that began many years ago. Follow Polly and Dave Henderson as they set out on their annual search for the perfect Christmas tree to share in their family’s festive celebration. This heartwarming story takes place on the edge of a Cape Cod marsh in Yarmouthport, Massachusetts, where the Hendersons built their quaint A-frame house for summer vacations and family gatherings. Narrated by the little Christmas tree, readers will share in the events that led to the little tree living all by his lonesome self in the middle of the plush, golden-green marsh and his daily observations and visitations from nature’s wildlife. They will also be captivated by his journey into the Henderson home, where he became the main focus of their celebration amid homemade decorations, handcrafted gifts, and an extraordinary Christmas feast. As the joyful holiday occasion comes to an end, the Henderson family had one more surprise for their special guest. While emphasizing the true meaning of Christmas and the importance of love and family, the lonely little Christmas tree receives a gift that will change his life forever.

About the Author

Sharon Sanders resides in Sandwich, Massachusetts, with her husband, Rob, to whom she has been married for twenty-one years. She has lived on Cape Cod since 1987 but is originally from Littleton, Massachusetts. She is the proud mother to three grown children, Brandon, Laura, Curtis, and new grandmother to Madelyn Dolly and Kennedy Elizabeth. Sharon has worked as an emergency room, criticalcare nurse for over twenty years and wrote her first novel, Final Mission, which was published by AuthorHouse in 2005. Her love for family and holiday tradition inspired her to write The Lonely Little Christmas Tree, which has been shared at many Christmas family gatherings dating back to the late 1980s, when she wrote the original version. After the birth of her first grandchild in 2015, she felt compelled to fulfill her cherished desire to have her story published. It is with great pride and love that she can now share this heartwarming tradition with her two granddaughters and future grandchildren, but more importantly, she can finally say thank you to the family who inspired this timeless Christmas story.
