My Heart Whispers is an intimate look at life through the lens of a man who has led an extraordinary life. Delaristo Stillgess shares and expresses his life experiences through his poetry, written from the heart. About the Author

Delaristo Stillgess is of Native American, African American, and Irish American descent, which has created a depth of understanding extending to people of all races, religions, and backgrounds. Delaristo is the father of nine children, fifteen grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren, all of whom are his heart and soul. Delaristo was born and raised in Urbana, Ohio and is a direct descendant of Joseph Stillgess, a prominent name in history for being an active conductor in the Underground Railroad during the Civil War. After leaving Urbana, life took Delaristo to Anaheim, California, Houston, Texas, and Grand Forks, North Dakota, among other places. Mr. Stillgess has worked as a popular disc jockey, avid drummer, and is a born performer. After graduating from college, he worked as a radiologist, operated a forklift, and owned businesses ranging from furniture stores to a well known record store. He is also an avid motorcycle enthusiast and a member and president of motorcycle clubs, however, he found his true passion in writing. Delaristo has said that although he is strong of faith in God, the devil makes life hard at times. Delaristo promised God that he would spread God’s Word through his poetry. He hopes that if, through his work “My Heart Whispers,” touches the heart of one person, he will be happy to know that his purpose in life will have been fulfilled.
