Antidote

This book, like a few others books that I had written in the past, is born out of a presentation that I was invited to give at the ORAC Annual Kingdom Focus Conference. Although I devoted much preparation into the research, development of this message on the blood of the Lamb, it was initially never intended to be developed into a book until I was compelled to do so as a result of the numerous positive feedbacks that I received from the audience after the delivery of the message at the conference. Perhaps writing a book on the subject of the blood of the Lamb never occurred to me because it was one of the most common topics of discussions, teachings and sermons especially in the Pentecostal and Apostolic circles. There is literally no Sunday that one would leave an Apostolic or Pentecostal church service without hearing the mention of the blood in one way or the other. At times through sermons, or in prayers, in exhortations or some other manner. Even casual, everyday conversations among born-again Believers, often triggers the usage or reference to the blood of Jesus. Either by claiming something by faith through the blood, by rebuking the works and schemes of our common adversary and enemy of our soul through the blood or by rejoicing for victories won through the blood of Jesus. Therefore, since the blood of Jesus had no limits in our everyday conversations, I was tempted to overlook how little many Believers know about the blood in general and about the blood of Jesus in particular. Many know about the fact that there is power in the blood of Jesus. Many are also very much aware of the redemptive power in the blood of the Lamb of God and how to plead that blood against the works of the enemy in a spiritual warfare. However, I came to the realization that a good percentage of Believers in our churches today as well as most nominal church goers, have very little knowledge about why the blood of Jesus is referred to as the Blood of the Lamb of God and also about the dynamics behind how the Blood of the Lamb goes to work on the behalf of humanity against sin or the devices of the devil. It is one thing to believe but entirely another thing to understand the facets of what constitute your believe or doctrine. "The subject of the blood of the Lamb of God and the mystery surrounding this subject, will ever remain one of the richest gold mines of evangelical thought. It occupies a central position in the doctrine of atonement, just like the phrase; God is Spirit in John 4;24, occupies in relation to the doctrine of God." [L.D. Bevan] I must admit that prior to my research and preparation towards the invitation to speak at the ORAC Kingdom Conference, my knowledge about the blood of the lamb and how it works wasn't what it is now. Hence in a way I was also not a hundred percent informed on the subject of the blood of the lamb although I had preached many messages on the blood in the past. It goes to confirm that generally ones' knowledge increases with time and it is especially so when it comes to grasping spiritual truths and concepts. As the good book (the bible) declares, knowledge comes precept by precept, line by line, a little here and a little there. The more we dedicate ourselves to know God's word and to understand it through the revelatory knowledge of the Holy Spirit, the more God reveals to us and pour out into souls. On this note, I invite you to take an intriguing journey with me into the subject of the precious blood of Jesus, and why John the Baptist pointed at Jesus and referred to him as the Lamb of God that taketh away the sins of the world. Notice that John did not refer to Jesus as the Cattle of God, Buffalo of God or even the Lion of God although all these creatures are by their nature stronger than a lamb. In this book I will expound on what makes the blood of the lamb of God precious and unique. Also, how the blood of the Lamb of God goes to work on behalf of the Believer or born-again Christian as well as sinners seeking salvation and deliverance from the yoke and bondage of sin and spiritual death so that the next time you sing the popular chorus; 'there is power in the blood of the lamb' you will exactly understand the principle behind how the power in the blood of the Lamb is put to work.
