About the Book

The Little Garden and the Horrible, No-Good, Very Bad Disease is a sequel to the original Save the Seeds and Run Benny Run picture books previously published. The adventures of the little garden seeds continue as they are faced with new changes and some unexpected hard times. After previously learning the valuable lesson of salvation and being saved for a special purpose in the first two books, their faith was now challenged by relocation and sickness. From their third adventures, they learned that God would never leave nor forsake them no matter where life carried them. Secondly, they witnessed that He was only a prayer away from them no matter where they were and no matter what the circumstances were. Faced with the battle of cancer recently, the author soon realized the connection between her own personal health challenges and the challenges we all face in our daily walks of dealing with unexpected change and life experiences. Accepting God’s plan for your life is imperative – change an is an inevitable a part of life but God will never leave nor forsake you. Never give up and remember to pray without ceasing.

About the Author

ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Kathy Bingham Powell is a retired preschool teacher from North Carolina, a loving wife of over forty-four years, mother of three grown children, and beloved ‘Nana’ to six grandchildren so far. She is excited to be publishing her third book with Author House. These were sequels and stories relating to the adventures of the little vegetable seeds within a small vegetable garden. Her passion for writing coupled with her love for children was fast-forwarded with her recent diagnosis of breast cancer to motivate her desire to publish one more book. After her mother’s passing fifteen years ago, she has devoted most of her time to “saving and planting seeds” both in her work with children’s gardening as well as her love for sharing picture books that parallel to Biblical morals and scripture through various story times. She treasures her personal Tiny Seeds Library in her home with over eight hundred picture books, each with an assigned scripture and arranged according to the books of the Bible. She founded a summer garden program for children in Durham, NC which she oversaw for twelve years before her retirement. Since her relocation to the beaches of North Carolina, she works with the Sunday School program at Emerald Isle Baptist Church and started a small garden program there as well. In addition to her time in the small garden, she has a modest “Read Through the Bible” online program each week which features a book of the Bible and a chosen picture book each week. Her recent diagnosis of breast cancer was her motivation to publish this third picture book. It is her desire that no child be left behind when it comes to hearing about Jesus Christ and His perfect love from Genesis to Revelation.
