One little race with so much power
I know you can guess it won’t take an hour
Then there is another race that’s going sour
I guess it’s cause we have no unity
If you don’t believe me look at our community
See, we can now get loans
We also can own beautiful homes
Some people have a lot of doubt
It’s us that will not help each other out
Do you not know
It’s time for us to start to show
Some type of unity to each other
Stop killing our own sisters and brothers
We don’t just kill with a gun
It could be some lies from the tongue
But, whatever ways that it’s done
Stop it’s really not fun
So, if you can help out in your community
That will be the start of our black unity
There were people like Joe Louis, Jackie Robinson, Jesse Owen just to name a few that opened doors for us
Now we kill each other and fuss
Damn y’all excuse me but I had to cuss
What is it that y’all don’t understand
It was our ancestors that was beat by the white man
Do you not know
It’s time for us to show
That we did appreciate what our ancestors went through
They wasn’t just for self
It was for us too
Now all we want to do
Is for our self
What about somebody black who need help
Can we start helping our community
Let us start now getting back our black unity
It’s time to support our own
If you need music how about calling a black on the telephone
Also if you need a hair cut
What about some of our black barbers
Who can hook you up
Then there are some black sisters who need their nails done
You’re hurting the black nail technicians that not fun
If you ever watch the Chinese
They let a black work for them to get business from you and me
See everyone has a trick
But it’s our blacks we need to stick with
I know all blacks will not do us right
I’ve experienced that more than twice
But the ones I told you about
They are good without a doubt
So it’s up to you to check them out
All I’m trying to say
Is help support our own at least one day
Then that will be the start of unity on the way
So if you can help out in your community
That will be the start of our black unity

About the Book
My book is about real life issues, things I’ve seen heard, experienced, or even been led by the Holy Spirit to write. It talks about problems, but it also offers some solutions. The book is very uplifting. If you can see yourself, then you can make the changes that are needed! It’s encouraging, and it’s just real.
About the Author
Sharon D. Richardson I’m twenty-two years old. I am a single mother of Cha-Ron and I have a baby on the way named Lachane if it’s a boy, if not, Lashon for a girl. I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis eleven years ago, which the doctors claim was fading my memory away. I was diagnosed November 24, 1990, and God gave me the gift of poetry February 1996. It only takes minutes to write. I’ve been on a local AM radio station five times reading the poems. I participated in one local talent show and I won. Seven poems have been published in four different books and one magazine (published). I’ve done poems at churches, weddings and even funerals. My desire is to let the world see the gift God gave to me. I’ve been told the poems are very uplifting. 2 Corinthians 9:15 thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!
