I believe so many people are afraid of making a choice and acting on it is because they fear failure. As children growing up, we must learn responsibility and morality. To learn these things we have to begin to make choices on our own. If we were shown by our parents that it is okay to make mistakes and that is the way we sometimes have to learn, it makes sense that we would have an easier time as an adult making choices. However, if parents continued to ridicule and shame children for making the wrong choices, it is understandable that when these children grow up, they may have a large amount of fear in making choices and of feeling like a failure.
THERE ARE NO WRONG CHOICES! Imagine that concept. And it's true. Let's suppose you make a decision and it doesn't work out the way you planned it. Well, take a look at the situation. There is a lesson to be learned out of every choice you make. It all depends on how you CHOOSE to let the situation affect you.
Take the worst possible situation that could happen. Now, ask yourself how would you let it affect you. Would you let it devastate you or would you try and learn from the situation and pull yourself up, dust yourself off and try again? It is all up to you because it is YOUR CHOICE. No one person can take that away from you, unless you give the choice away.
So, if we have a choice for things to be the way we want them, why do we continue to stay in unsatisfying situations? Why do we give up our choices? It is true that we are creatures of habit; however, we need to take responsibility for why we are creatures of habit. If we were not creatures living out of habit, then that would only mean one thing: We are creatures of change. Haven't heard of many of those, have you?
