He wanted to pull over on the side of the road and wait until his eyes cleared up, he really wanted to, and knew it would be much safer. But there was something driving him, something behind those burning, seething eyes, in his brain, saying, "Keep going, faster, faster go faster, get that thing behind you! Go faster,...faster,...FASTER!" He obeyed the voice, and stomped down on the accelerator, going faster than he knew he should go, but it was as though there was someone else controlling his car. Someone else pressing the gas. Someone else gripping the steering wheel. Suddenly, out of nowhere, a car’s headlights appeared in front of him, and Mike was temporarily blinded. Not realizing how fast he was going, nor that the car was actually a safe distance from him, he whipped away from the lights. He felt a jolting impact, as his car crashed through the concrete railing on the side of Veteran's Bridge, and plummeted 379 feet to the river below, landing top down on a small rocky isle, and bursting into flames. Mike Stone was victim number two.

About the Book
While digging a trench to contain a fire, a bulldozer operator unwittingly uncovers a long-buried skull. He perishes in the fire, and the skull – once belonging to an Indian Shaman – unleashes its deadly curse on anyone who comes into contact with it. Tom Archer, collector and co-founder of a large excavation company, obtains the relic – already responsible for the horrific deaths of many innocent people – and is suddenly confronted with the futility of battling an ancient evil-power that is not bound by the rules of our dimension.

< About the author Tim Tingle was born in Tennessee in 1958, and grew up near Montevallo, Alabama. Educated at the University of Montevallo, he is full time coal miner, part-time farmer, wood sculptor, world traveler and writer.
